"...but I would never lead him home."
What are your thoughts on the ending of the novel? Reflect on Scout's meeting "Boo" for the first time. What does Scout mean when she tells Atticus, "Well, it'd be sort of like shootin' a mockingbird, wouldn't it?" Explain the significance of what Scout "sees" from the Radley front porch after she takes Boo home.

Life Lessons
One of the themes in To Kill a Mockingbird is the idea of "coming of age." In other words, the process of a child transforming into an adult (some would say "loss of innocence"). What are some lessons Scout and Jem have learned about life up through Chapter 25 that have opened their eyes to the adult world? What is a life lesson that has stood out to you? Be specific with your thoughts.

Mr. Brindle's

2. "'He doesn't look like trash,' said Dill." (Ch. 16, pg. 163)
3. "Yeah, but Atticus aims to defend him. That's what I don't like about it....I thought it odd he hadn't said anything to us about it...The court appointed Atticus to defend him. Atticus aimed to defend him. That's what they didn't like about it. It was confusing." (Ch. 16, pg. 166)
